Our Beginning
Wilton Animal Rescue, Inc Non-Profit knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives. Back in 2000, our Animal Rescue Service realized that by working together we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently, and that is why we ultimately decided to launch Wilton Animal Rescue, Inc Non-Profit.
Our Mission

The mission of Wilton Animal Rescue (WAR) is to save the dogs that are left abandoned in shelters or on the streets. Dogs that were surrendered or discarded by their owners that need a second chance to feel the loving touch of an owner that has unconditional love for them.

Many dogs often struggle because of an abused or neglected household. WAR is committed to providing them medical care, helping them to overcome their fear of humans or the human touch and allowing them to grow in a world of love and reassurance. WAR is committed to trapping and securing any abandoned animal needing assistance.

WAR is committed to finding these dogs a loving foster or a permanent home that will provide them with the unconditional love that they deserve. WAR is also committed to work closely with other rescues to secure homes for these dogs.
Our Activities
Rescue Facility

We operate a rescue facility for many dogs. Our facility enables us to house them safely and provide the shelter and care they deserve. The dogs are able to socialize, have access to exercise and fresh air. They no longer need to worry where their next meal is going to come from.
Care

The health of every dog that comes under our care is our top priority. We provide veterinary care when needed as well as our own skills to nurse them back to health. We ensure that all dogs that are adopted from our rescue are fully vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered.
Trapping

WAR travels to sites where abandoned dogs are spotted by the community and helps to humanely trap them and get them out of harms way so that they can get the care they need.
Microchipping

WAR hosts a drive-through microchipping event every year on our founder Carol’s birthday. Folks are welcome to bring their pets through and get them microchipped free of charge!
